The Subaru Justy was a popular option for consumers shopping for small cars because of its all-wheel drive characteristics and practicality. Produced by Japanese automaker Subaru, the Justy evolved through three generations, each bringing new features and advancements. The first generation was available as a three-door or five-door hatchback and had a tiny, three-cylinder engine with straightforward, boxy styling. Early models were notable for offering Subaru's ECVT (Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission) in 1987, one of the earliest uses of CVT technology in production cars.
The second generation was a rebadged version of the Suzuki Swift, and this model had more rounded and contemporary designs. Engine options included small, efficient engines, typically around 1.3 liters, and AWD was also available. The third generation was a rebadged version of the Daihatsu Boon, which focused on maneuverability and urban driving. This generation was mainly available as a five-door hatchback. After the 2010 model year, the Justy was replaced with the Subaru Trezia, and revived in 2016 as a rebadged Toyota Tank.
